Spot The Difference

Just as New Labour begins to implode, Gordon Brown gets this ringing endorsement from one of his senior MP's. George Howarth, one of the rebels calling for a labour leadership contest, has said Gordon Brown is the most unpopular prime minister since wartime leader Neville Chamberlain. He told BBC Two's Newsnight: 'We can't allow that situation to continue.'

What a mess! I'm no fan of Brown, but in view of the economic crisis we're now in, the last thing we need is a Government leadership contest. What the rebel MP's fail to realise is that it's not just Gordon who is unpopular in the UK, it's the whole party, and a changing of the guard will not bring about any reversal in this overwhelming view.
